VfL Wolfsburg – Borussia Mönchengladbach
The Bundesliga’s Europa League entrants play each other on Sunday with second place Wolfsburg facing the prospect of moving within a whole seven points of leaders Bayern Munich. The Wolves haven’t had the best of weeks though as they were first defeated at Schalke before being beaten by Everton in the Europa League.
Gladbach meanwhile also suffered a disappointing defeat last weekend as they were turned over by Eintracht Frankfurt. That was a second consecutive Bundesliga loss and whilst they did well to earn a draw in Spain on Thursday at Villarreal, Wolfsburg may just edge them on Sunday, at 1.90.
Eintracht Frankfurt – Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League performances haven’t sunk to the levels of their Bundesliga form this season, or that was at least until this week. On Wednesday, Dortmund were turgid in their defeat to Arsenal and ahead of their game at Frankfurt, they’re bottom of the division.
Eintracht meanwhile ended their run of four straight league defeats with a surprise win at Gladbach last Saturday. Even though Dortmund will be without Hummels and Reus once again, the visitors can only improve on their shoddy midweek display. An away win, albeit a narrow one, should be on the cards, at 1.65.
