Borussia Dortmund v FC Augsburg
When Augsburg departed the Signal Iduna Park in February, they left Borussia Dortmund bottom of the Bundesliga. As Augsburg return for the first time since, it is they who are last in the table but they did at least get their first ever European win during the week at Alkmaar.
Dortmund though were also winners on Thursday night in the Europa League courtesy of a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hat-trick. That made it 17 goals in 17 games for the Gabonese striker and with Augsburg not impressing in the Bundesliga, a goal for Aubameyang coupled with a home win looks worth backing at 2.00.
Borussia Mönchengladbach v Schalke 04
With their draw at Juventus, Gladbach showed the strength of the resilience cultivated by their recent run under interim coach André Schubert. In the Bundesliga, Schubert has a perfect record of four wins from four games. André Breitenreiter’s Schalke aren’t looking quite as convincing. They recovered to draw against Sparta Prague during the week and their win against Hertha last Saturday was also shaky in places. The momentum here is with Gladbach and it should give them yet another win, with the hosts at 2.20 to emerge victorious again under André Schubert.
