Borussia Dortmund - Schalke 04
The Revierderby isn’t coming round at a good time for Schalke. They’re fast losing the early season momentum created by André Breitenreiter’s arrival and heading to Dortmund, key players such as captain Benedikt Höwedes and midfielder Johannes Geis are both unavailable.
The derby couldn’t be coming round at a better time for Borussia Dortmund. They thumped Qabala in the Europa League on Thursday to make it 68 goals scored in 21 games this season. Marco Reus is a fitness worry from that game but such is the way Dortmund are attacking at the moment, Schalke may struggle to cope on Sunday. A -1 home win for Thomas Tuchel’s side is at 1.68.
Augsburg - SV Werder Bremen
Augsburg’s form has picked up in the Europa League with Raul Bobadilla netting a hat-trick on Thursday evening. Now Markus Weinzierl’s side need to do the same in the Bundesliga as they currently sit last in the table. Werder Bremen aren’t in a great predicament themselves but striker Anthony Ujah is at least on a good run of form.
They did show a clinical edge in their last away game at Mainz and given the potential of a European hangover for Augsburg, the visitors may be well placed to win this one at 3.35.
