VfB Stuttgart - SV Werder Bremen
There could be entertainment in Swabia on Sunday but it’s likely to come at the expense of both sides. Between them, Stuttgart and Werder have conceded 63 goals this season making them the worst two defences in the division prior to the weekend.
Stuttgart are still searching for a permanent coach whilst Viktor Skripnik goes on in his post at Werder despite defeats in eight of their last ten Bundesliga games. They’ve actually won two of their last three on the road but that one loss was a 6-0 hiding at Wolfsburg. Perhaps though with this one, it’s best to expect the unexpected with an away win at 3.70.
Eintracht Frankfurt - SV Darmstadt 98
For the second week running, Eintracht Frankfurt have a derby but in this Hessen encounter against Darmstadt, they’ll be without captain and top scorer Alex Meier after he was sent off in their defeat to Mainz last weekend. Darmstadt meanwhile had a goalless draw with Cologne last Friday night.
Eintracht coach Armin Veh has talked up the importance of this one with both sides loitering close to the relegation zone. The ability of Dirk Schuster’s side to scrap may come in handy against a Frankfurt side low on confidence. They have just one home win to their name this season and on that basis, it’s worth backing a draw here at 3.45.
