TSG Hoffenheim - Werder Bremen
The novelty of Claudio Pizarro joining Werder Bremen for a fourth time hasn’t worn off for some Werder fans as he received a large welcome at the airport this week. He’s likely to only be on the bench at Hoffenheim after a promising performance by the first choice strike partnership of Anthony Ujah and Aron Johansson in their victory over Gladbach.
Hoffenheim meanwhile have endured a tough start, with only a point to show after their first three games. They've only mustered five shots on target so far and that form points towards a draw here at 3.70.
Schalke 04 - Mainz
Things have gone a little flat after Schalke’s opening day win over Werder Bremen. Julian Draxler’s departure to Wolfsburg has left a sour taste with supporters, so results are required on the pitch to ease pressure on the figures off it.
Schalke skipper Benedikt Höwedes is back for the hosts but visitors Mainz have recorded back-to-back wins and are unlikely to roll over easily in Gelsenkirchen. That said, the hosts should be able to grind out three points at 1.85.
