Stoke 4.60, the Draw 3.70, Manchester United 1.78
Manchester United will look to make it back-to-back away wins at Stoke after they won convincingly at Villa Park on Sunday. That 3-0 win, which saw rare goals from Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley, has helped rebuild United’s confidence after two damaging home defeats in the league by Everton and Newcastle.
United will feel confident of booking their place in the semi-finals of the competition when they face a Stoke side that have failed to score in three of their last four games. In addition, United have won the last four meetings between the sides and David Moyes will see this as a fine opportunity to win some silverware early into his Old Trafford reign.
And everything points towards a routine United win.
- Manchester United have lost their last two quarter-final ties, against Crystal Palace and West Ham United respectively.
- Stoke have never lost a home cup tie against United, and beat the Red Devils on their run to the 1972 League Cup final.
- United have won the last four meetings between the two sides - all of which have come in the Premier League. The last was a 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford in late October.
