Champions League Betting: Group F Tips

Bayern Munich 1.18, the draw 6.75, Lille 14.50 (19:45 kick-off)

On paper, this looks like a relatively straightforward game for Bayern. The German giants are flying high at the top of the Bundesliga, and bounced back from the shock defeat to Bayer Leverkusen with commanding wins over Kaiserslautern and Hamburg. Their Champions League campaign has been a mixed bag however; they picked up an impressive win over Valencia before losing to BATE and grinding out a win in France last time out. That result left Lille rock bottom of Group F, with no points thus far.

Bayern have scored three or more goals on no fewer than eight occasions this season, and should have too much firepower for Les Dogues. Back the hosts to score in both halves at 1.70, or on the -1 handicap at 1.58. The Bavarians have also kept 11 clean sheets in all competitions this term, so the 1.75 available on Lille not to net looks like great value.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos all got their names on the scoresheet in the win over Hamburg at the weekend, underlining the fact that Bayern offer a huge threat from midfield. Kroos, who packs a punch with his long shots, is perhaps the best value at 3.00 to score anytime. For Lille, centre-back Aurelien Chedjou is a threat from set pieces, and is at 24.00 to find the net.

Score prediction: Bayern 3-0 Lille (12.00)

Valencia 1.25, the draw 6.00, BATE 12.00 (19:45 kick-off)

Roberto Soldado's fine hat-trick gave the Spanish side an important win in Belarus when these sides met in October, and Valencia will be confident of completing the double at the Mestalla. Mauricio Pellegrino's side seem to be recovering from a slow start to the campaign, and have won six of their last eight in all competitions. BATE's season has gone the other way: after a stunning 18-game unbeaten run (which included wins over Lille and Bayern), their form has tailed off dramatically.

With BATE likely to try to keep things tight, under 2.5 goals looks a good option at 2.25. 'No' on the both teams to score market might be a good back-up option at 1.65. For a longer-odds bet, try Draw/Valencia HT/FT at 4.50.

Soldado is undoubtedly the man to watch for Los Che, and can be backed at 3.30 to open the scoring on Wednesday. Brazilian forward Jonas usually plays a little deeper, but represents decent value at 2.50 to hit the net.

Score prediction: Valencia 2-0 BATE (6.50)
