Champions League Betting: Group A Tips

PSG 2.10, the draw 3.40, Porto 3.40 (19:45 kick-off)

The two dominant forces in Group A square off in Paris, hoping to seal top spot. Porto, who hold a one-point advantage going into this game, are in the driving seat and in better form: they're still unbeaten domestically and have coped admirably with the loss of Hulk in the summer. For all their spending, PSG have flattered to deceive, winning just three of their last eight games. Odds of 1.72 on Porto/Draw double chance look enticing.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is understandably favourite to open the scoring at 4.50. The Swede, who has bagged 13 goals in 12 league games since his big money move from Milan, will be the focal point a PSG attack that has no shortage of creative players. The smart money, though, would be on Lucho Gonzalez, who has two in his last four outings for the Portuguese side. He's available at 8.00 to find the net.

Score prediction: PSG 1-2 Porto (12.50)

Dinamo Zagreb 3.45, the draw 3.50, Dynamo Kiev 2.05

Group A whipping boys in their first five games, Dinamo will be looking to salvage some pride as they sign off against near-namesakes Dynamo. Despite their Champions League struggles, the hosts are going along nicely domestically, sitting pretty atop the Croatian league, whereas Dynamo are way off the pace in the Ukraine. Bettingwise, the best option looks to be on 'No' on the Both Teams To Score market at 2.10. That bet would have won in every one of Dinamo's last six games, and seven of Dynamo's last eight.

With that stat in mind (both sides have been drawing plenty of blanks, not just keeping clean sheets all the time!), the goalscorers markets look tricky. Ideye Brown (2.70 anytime) is a danger for Dynamo, but this should be a low-scoring affair.

Score prediction: Dinamo 0-0 Dynamo (12.50)
