European Football Results: Monaco draw level as PSG slip up

The main game in Spain this weekend and indeed in Europe, was undoubtedly El Clasico. It was Barcelona that triumphed with a 2-1 win, as Neymar and Alexis Sanchez  found the net for the home side.

It sent Barcelona six points clear of third-placed Real and a point ahead of Atletico Madrid, who got back to winning ways with a 5-0 demolition of Real Betis.

Barcelona are now in to 1.33, with Real Madrid at 4.00 and Atletico Madrid at 10.00.

Roma made it nine wins from nine, with a 1-0 victory away at Udinese - as tipped by our Serie A pundit Paolo Bandini at odds of 2.1.

The teams below them were also victorious. Inter Milan beat Verona 4-2, Napoli and Juventus both enjoyed 2-0 wins over Torino and Genoa respectively, while Fiorentina won 2-1 at Chievo.

Juventus are the 2.05 favourites, with Roma now into 2.75 ahead of Napoli at 5.50. Inter are 20.00, with Fiorentina at 25.00.

The top sides in the Bundesliga also all enjoyed wins. League leaders Bayern Munich came from behind at home to Hertha Berlin to win 3-2, with Mario Mandzukic scoring twice. The high-scoring encounter was predicted by our own Raphael Honigstein who tipped over 3.5 goals at 1.85.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen kept hold of Bayern’s coattails and are both just a point behind. Dortmund won impressively, with a 3-1 result away at Schalke. Bayer Leverkusen had a tougher time against struggling Augsburg, but came back from a goal down to win 2-1.

Bayern Munich are rated as 1.18 shots to retain their title, with Dortmund at 5.00 and Leverkusen at 20.00.

Monaco drew level on points with Paris St-Germain this weekend, as the reigning champions slipped up at St Etienne. PSG went 2-0 down but kept their unbeaten record intact, with goals from Edison Cavani and a last-minute strike from Blaise Matuidi rescuing a 2-2 draw.

Monaco had no such worries with a 2-1 win over misfiring Lyon, while Lille are just two points behind the big spenders after a 1-0 win at Nantes.

PSG are 1.22 to retain their title, with Monaco at 4.50 and Lille at 30.00.
