The 6 Best Penalties Ever In Honour Of Pirlo's Panenka

As England crashed out of Euro 2012 on penalties (AGAIN!) Italy's Andrea Pirlo showed Roy's boys just how it should be done.

The walking L'Oreal advert calmly chipped Joe Hart - a penalty Penenka himself would have been proud of - before Ashley Young stepped up and showed a distinct lack of class by smashing his against the bar.

Here is that delicious Pirlo dink...

And here follow six of the best...

6. The Original

Here is the first (and some would still way best) chipped penalty from Antonin Panenka in the final of Euro 1976. Bold!

5. When In Rome

Roma stalwart Francesco Totti loves a cheeky penalty, and here he is in training backheeling one in!

4. Testing 1, 2

Here's the father of beautiful football Johan Cruyff, playing a cheeky 1-2 with Jesper Olsen for Ajax.

3. Brave Hart

He was in line to take one had Ashley Cole not missed, but England keeper Joe Hart has form for scoring from the spot.

2. Use Your Head

Another Penenka style chip here, this time from Zinedine Zidane in the World CUp final no less. He kept his head to score this one, but got sent off for headbutting Marco Materazzi an hour later. Oops.

1. Switch It Up

Young Spain star Ezequiel Calvente did a first in a U-19 championship game a couple of years ago, scoring with his standing foot. Impressive!
