The European Championships have left us with some absolute humdingers of games over the years.
And as we count down the days until Euro 2012, we dig out some of the best. Enjoy!
8. France 2 Italy 1, Euro 2000
The Italians had just 90 seconds left to hold on to a 1-0 win and the Euro crown would have been theirs. But a late goal from Sylvain Wiltord took it to extra-time where David Trezaguet smashed home a golden goal winner. Mamma mia!
7. Denmark 2 Germany 0, Euro 1992
After sneaking into the tournament on a wildcard, Denmark went on to win the whole dang thing thanks to this final win over favourites Germany. John Jensen scored (no, really!).
6. Yugoslavia 3 Spain 4, Euro 2000
This game is famous for having about 25 goals in injury time as the players suddenly decided to start giving it a go as the clock wore down. Late goals from Mendieta and Alfonso swung it the way of the Spanish. Phew!
5. Holland 2 Czech Republic 3, Euro 2004
A Roy of the Rovers style comeback here from a group game in 2004. Holland were 2-0 up and cruising but the Czechs turned it around, thanks in part to two goals from tournament top scorer Milan Baros. Yes, him!
4. Holland 2 Germany 1, Euro 1988
A local rivarly here between the two tournament favourites, and it was the Dutch who came out on top thanks to a late winner from who else but Marco van Basten. He would then go on to score the greatest Euro goal ever in a final win over USSR.
3. France 3 Portugal 2, Euro 1984
The year 1984 belonged to Michel Platini (not literally but the Frenchman won European Football of the Year and was top scorer at Euro 1984). And in this ding-dong battle with Portugal he scored a last-minute extra-time winner. Zut Alors!
2. England 4 Holland 1, Euro 1996
England's greatest Euro moment came on home soil when they destroyed Holland thanks to a brace each from Alan Shearer and Teddy Sheringham. To wrap up a great day for the England fans, Patrick Kluivert's goal meant Scotland couldn't progress from the group.
1. Czech Republic 2 Turkey 3, Euro 2008
To quote Kanye West; the best Euro comeback of ALL TIME took place in 2008 when Turkey overturned a two goal deficit against the Czech Republic thanks to two late goals from Nihat. The second was a beautifully curled effort which took them through to the quarter-finals. Boof!
