Thursday’s Euro 2012 semi -final between Germany and Italy saw a late consolation goal for Germany and a massive consolation payout for Unibet’s customers as over £250,000 worth of bets were refunded!

It is the third time in 10 days that Unibet have refunded stakes with the total amount paid back to customers now topping the £500,000 mark

“In the context of the semi-final, Ozil’s 92nd minute didn’t goal mean a great deal, but for Unibet customers it turned a lot of otherwise losing bets into moneyback!” said Erik Backlund Head Of Unibet’s Sportsbook.

“With over 75% of money on Gomez to be first goalscorer, we were very happy that Balotelli got the opener, but our customers once again ended up having the last laugh as all those bets were refunded anyway! Of course those customers who were slightly unlucky not to win their bets on Italy winning 2-0 can take some heart from the fact that they still have cash in their accounts this morning!”

Unibet are no strangers to refunding bets on big events - their Champions League 0-0 insurance offer has previously seen bets refunded to customers on any match finishing goalless.

With just the Euro 2012 final to play and teams pushing hard for a last minute goal, Unibet customers will be hoping for one more injury time goal and more refunded stakes!
