European Football Results: Beckham makes cameo in PSG win


The Milan derby ended all square on Sunday night, with Ezequiel Schelotto's second half header salvaging a point for Inter. Milan had dominated the first half and took the lead through Stephan El Shaarawy, but Mario Balotelli's profligacy came back to haunt them in the end. With Napoli and Lazio only playing this evening, Juventus extended their lead at the top of the table with a routine win against Siena. Real Madrid and Barcelona both warmed up for the upcoming Clasico series with 2-1 wins in La Liga. Los Blancos needed late goals from Kaka and Gonzalo Higuain to overcome Deportivo La Coruna, while Barca were thankful for Leo Messi's killer instincts against Sevilla. The surprise of the weekend was Malaga's 3-0 loss to Real Betis - a result that puts the latter on the brink of the European places. Betis can be backed at 7.00 to finish in the top four.


Bayern Munich continued their stellar form, romping to a 6-1 win against Werder Bremen (see below). Arjen Robben staked his claim for a starting spot in the Champions League, bagging the opener and setting up two further goals. Jupp Heynckes' side are now a whopping 17 points clear of Dortmund, who could only manage a 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladback on Sunday. The weekend's other big winners were Hannover, who smashed Hamburg 5-1 at the AWD Arena.


All eyes were on the Parc des Princes on Sunday night, as Joey Barton's Marseille travelled to Paris to play PSG. An own goal but the side from the capital ahead, before Zlatan Ibrahimovic wrapped up all three points late on. David Beckham, on whom TV cameras were trained throughout, made an impressive cameo for PSG, clipping a lovely pass to Ezequiel Lavezzi in the build-up to the goal. Lyon stayed within touching distance at the top, beating Lorient 3-1.
