European Football Results: Does anyone want to win Ligue 1?

France

The Ligue 1 title race has all the makings of a classic battle. There's nouveau riche PSG leading the way, traditional rivals Marseille chasing, and Lyon sandwiched between the two. There's just one problem: no one seems to want to win the thing. PSG slipped up once again at the weekend, drawing away at Saint-Etienne (see below), but neither of the Olympiques could take advantage: Lyon were thrashed by lowly Bastia, while Marseille played out a dull 0-0 draw with Ajaccio.

Germany

Bayern Munich maintained their 20-point lead (!) at the top of the Bundesliga, beating Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. Borussia Dortmund went goal crazy at home to Freiburg (see below) while Schalke's poor week ended with a 3-0 loss against Nurnberg. That result saw them shoved out of the Champions League places by the season's surprise package, Eintracht Frankfurt.

Spain

Real Sociedad took a big stride towards Champions League qualification, beating Real Valladolid to climb into fourth place in La Liga. Valencia (3-0 winners vs Betis) are not far behind, but Malaga dropped off the pace after losing to Espanyol. Manuel Pelligrini's side are now 3.50 to finish in the top four. And yes, they both won again. Here's Real Madrid scoring five against Mallorca...

Italy

No changes at the top of the Serie A table - Juventus won, Napoli won (see below), Milan won, Fiorentina won. Lazio's dire run continued with a 1-0 loss to Torino, a result that renews Catania's hopes of qualifying for Europe.
