Barcelona - Getafe - Tuesday 19.00 GMT
This looks like another straightforward three points for Barcelona as they look to keep ticking off the games and remain ahead of Real Madrid in the title race.
Suspicions that Barca might be distracted by Josep Guardiola’s looming return with Bayern Munich in the Champions League were dispelled by Saturday’s businesslike 2-0 win at neighbours Espanyol, in which Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi were all superb.
Jordi Alba’s strange sending off in that game means the left-back is suspended for Tuesday’s game, so Adriano Correia should deputise. This looks an ideal game for some more rotation too - and local media reports have Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets and even potentially one or two of the big name front three getting a rest. Centre-back Thomas Vermaelen, who has finally been declared fit, could make his first match squad since joining from Arsenal last summer.
A 0-1 defeat at home to Levante on Saturday raised suspicions that Getafe’s players reckon they are already safe from relegation.
That is probably correct given they currently sit 13th with a seven point buffer above the drop zone. Even still coach Pablo Franco admitted on Monday that he would not risk any not 100% fit players, with Sunday’s home game against Granada the priority.
Arriving in a similar position late last season, Getafe managed a surprise 2-2 draw at the Camp Nou. And December’s reverse fixture finished 0-0. But the current Barca side now looks full of conviction. Anything other than a comfortable home win here would be a huge surprise.
Predicted result: Barca 4-0 Getafe at 6.50
Best bet: Barca to win first half in market which starts with them 1-0 down [i.e. to be two goals up at half time] at 1.90
