La Liga Betting: Madrid to pull off narrow win

There's a certain amount of love being spread at the moment for Diego Costa, which hasn't always been the case. The Brazilian-born striker scored the winner at the Bernabéu and Spanish manager Vicente del Bosque wants him for La Roja.

"FIFA have asked for some additional requirements to be met that are already in the pipeline, whilst the player has said today verbally to the Spanish Coach that his intention in the future is to play for the Spanish national team," read a statement issued on Thursday evening by the RFEF. The Atlético Madrid forward is set to follow in the footsteps of Marcos Senna who now plays for the New York Cosmos.

Levante 9.50, a draw 5.20, Real Madrid 1.33

Tempers flared the last time Real Madrid travelled to the Ciutat de València, when the police had to be called in to defuse the situation. At the centre of it was a referee, centre-back Pepe and the now former Levante defender Sergio Ballesteros.

It's not a happy hunting ground for Madrid. They have lost two of their last three visits. Following the opening day mauling at Barcelona, Joaquín Caparrós has 'the frogs' sitting in mid-table and difficult to beat.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in his 100th Champions League appearance on Wednesday night. The forward has continued to provide goals for Carlo Ancelotti's team, even when performances haven't been at the desired level.

The Portuguese winger is 3.20 to strike first, as Karim Benzema struggles with expectation and with Gareth Bale ruled out of the match. The world's most expensive player will spend the next fortnight undertaking additional conditioning work following a disrupted pre-season.

Los Blancos are still hurting at their defeat to rivals Atléti last weekend, when they were comprehensively out-played. Given Real Madrid's recent problems and their history at the stadium, then why not try Levante to be leading at half-time. It's a decent 4.50 and if they are drawing the bet is rescinded.

Score Prediction: Levante 1 Real Madrid 2 (8.00)

Barcelona 1.09, a draw 10.50, Real Valladolid 25.00

It was a case of job done at Parkhead with Barcelona eventually finding their way through a stubborn Celtic defence. The Scots had defended resolutely until Scott Brown's lack of discipline saw them reduced to ten men. The midfielder later commented that he felt it was harsh, but admitted to the mistake.

Brown's swipe at Neymar saw the Brazilian targeted by the supporters as he looked to make the most of the incident. "Yes, Brown kicked me,” responded Neymar to reporters’ questions in the mixed zone after the game.

With the home side a player down, only then did the Catalans start to create clear-cut chances. Cesc Fàbregas and manager Gerardo Martino described the game as their most complete of the season, as they were particularly impressed by the control rather than the amount of goal scoring opportunities. Fàbregas covered for the missing Lionel Messi in the 'false nine' role and is likely to do so once again. The former Arsenal man headed in the winner and he is priced at 5.75 to open the scoring at the Camp Nou.

Barça have won both games without their Argentinean superstar by a solitary goal, though they were played on their travels. While Valladolid have just six goals from their seven matches to date. Under 2.5 goals is 3.10.

Score Prediction: Barcelona 2 Real Valladolid 0 (6.50)

Athletic Bilbao 2.10, a draw 3.35, Valencia 3.40

It's four wins in as many games for Valencia and the negativity surrounding the squad has stopped for now, but question marks remain over the long-term stability. Miroslav Đukić will feel content, whilst knowing that any false move will lead to his critics returning swiftly.

Athletic's Jekyll and Hyde form under Ernesto Valverde continued with the loss at Granada. Nine of the 12 points they have gained were at home during this campaign. The new San Mamés is becoming a lucky charm. Both wins have arrived by a one-goal margin. Try Athletic to draw in the handicap market which sees Valencia starting 1-0. A one goal advantage to the team from Bilbao at full-time will reward you with odds of 4.00.

Score Prediction: Atletico Bilbao 3 Valencia 2 (22.00)
