Celta Vigo v Real Madrid – Saturday 15:00GMT
It is second v first in this unexpected top of the table clash after eight games.
Celta have certainly exceeded all expectations so far this season and have done so playing a creative, expansive style of football. Please don't write them off in this game. After all they did thump Barcelona 4-1 at Los Balaidos recently and fully deserved their victory.
Celta, under coach Eduardo Berrizom are made up of a really solid back four consisting of two young full-backs from their own youth system in Hugo Mallo and Jonny Otto. Sergi Gomez, a centre back, is another youngster who was recruited from Barcelona B and the more experienced Gustavo Cabral is the leader of the defensive unit.
Augusto Fernandez, Daniel Wass and Nemanja Radoja are creative, hardworking and very stylish in a midfield three but up front they have been electric this season. Fabian Orrelana, the Chilean winger, will be a threat, along with the pacey Iago Aspas, but the focus will be on Nolito, who plays wide left. He has done so well in the last couple of seasons that he is now being linked with his former club Barcelona along with one or two of the Premier League big boys for a January move. Celta will do well to keep him now.
Can they breach a Real Madrid defence that is excelling under Rafa Benitez after conceding only two goals so far this season in 11 games?
I think they can, but it is certainly going to be harder than their recent fixture against Barcelona. Keylor Navas has been outstanding this season in his quest to be the permanent replacement for the departed Iker Casillas and he will need to be in top form again to deny Celta. I'm going for a tight entertaining 1-1 draw. Nolito for Celta is the most likely scorer and of course you can't ignore CR can you? He is trying admirably at the moment to fill the gaps whilst Benzema, James and Bale recover from injuries.
