Julien Laurens' Ligue 1 Betting: After Madrid Misery, PSG Will Torment Toulouse

PSG – Toulouse – Saturday 16.00 GMT

PSG host Toulouse on Saturday afternoon at the Parc des Princes and the Parisians will still be regretting the numerous chances they missed in midweek against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. They lost narrowly after a mistake by their goal keeper Kevin Trapp but they probably put on their best performance of the season.

They dominated and just lack efficiency in front of goals. It will be a total different game on Saturday against strugglers Toulouse and PSG usually drop their motivation and desire in those kind of matches. They will not play with the same intensity and focus as against Madrid but even at 50% or less of their ability, it will still be enough to beat their opponents.

Marco Verratti is out for the game and Javier Pastore should be out too, but Marquinhos should be back in the squad. Laurent Blanc will still field a strong starting line up to continue Paris’s unbeaten run. They are yet to be beaten so far in the league this season after ten wins and two draws. Trapp, despite his blunder against Madrid on Tuesday, will keep his place. For Blanc, the German is still ahead of Sirigu in the pecking order. But he will have to prove his worth, not just against Toulouse but in the following few games too.

Trapp, like the rest of the PSG team, will expect an easy game on Saturday against one of the weakest teams in the league. And they have a great record against them at home as their last defeat against Toulouse at the Parc des Princes was back in 2008.

For Toulouse, 19th in the table, the main objective will be to try not to concede too much. They will line up with five defenders to try to frustrate the Parisians as much as possible. But they have been dreadful so far this season with zero win ssince the opening day of the campaign and one of the worst defences and attacks.

I can’t see them even getting a point in Paris. I think PSG will get an easy and very comfortable win too.

The odds are massively in favour of PSG with a home win at 1.18. The draw is at 6.40 and a Toulouse away win is at 21.00.

Edinson Cavani is favourite to score first at 3.40, but my best tip is PSG to win both halves at 2.38.

Score prediction: PSG 3 Toulouse 0 – 8.50
