Julien Laurens' Ligue 1 Betting: PSG can follow up Barca demolition with another four-goal triumph

PSG v Toulouse, Sunday 8pm

PSG host Toulouse on Sunday, five days after their demolition of Barcelona in the Champions League at the Parc des Princes (4-0). It was their best performance by far under Unaï Emery this season. They were outstanding from start to finish and showed what they have in them.

Thiago Motta is back from suspension after missing the Barça tie but Thiago Silva is still out. Marco Verratti came off with cramps on Tuesday but he is fine for this game. Emery is tempted to field the same starting eleven against Toulouse on Sunday as against the Catalans.

Angel Di Maria looked reborn after a poor first half of the season. Edinson Cavani scored again. He now has 34 goals in 32 games in all competitions this season, including 25 in the league in 23 appearances. PSG are unbeaten in their last 12 games now in all competitions and are yet to lose in 2017. They have great momentum and confidence going into this match against Toulouse.

For the visitors, this is a huge task. They will have nothing to lose in Paris but they can fear their trip there. They have a poor record at the Parc des Princes in recent years and they have been very inconsistent this season.

However, their two offensive signing from the January transfer window, Corentin Jean and Andy Delort, are doing very well, especially Delort who has scored in his three games with the club so far. He will try to play in behind the PSG defence. I think PSG will win the game though.

The odds are massively in favour of PSG with a home win at 1.20. The draw is at 6.50 and a Toulouse away win is at 15.00.

Edinson Cavani is favourite to score first at 2.95. My best tip is PSG to score from a penalty at 3.50.

Score prediction: PSG 4 Toulouse 0 (10.00)

Lyon v Dijon, Sunday 4pm

The crisis at Lyon, who host Dijon at home on Sunday afternoon, eased a bit in midweek after their convincing win away at Alkmaar in the Europa League (4-1) but their struggles in the league recently are still there.

L’OL have already lost 10 league matches out of 25 which is as many at this stage as when they were relegated back in the 80s. They have lost four of their last six in Ligue 1 and the fans are not happy at all. The atmosphere is really hostile at the Parc OL at the moment and the players need to put on a good performance to calm things down.

This is a tricky game though as Dijon are usually good against big clubs. Memphis Depay is back after being cup tied in Europe. But Anthony Lopes is suspended for this game so his number two, Mathieu Gorgelin will enjoy a rare start.

Nicolas Nkoulou was dropped on Thursday again and should not be in the squad. Bruno Genesio should keep the same back four as in midweek. Alexandre Lacazette is the man in form with 13 goals in his last 11 games and 25 for the season.

Despite the fans being on his back, he is still outstanding on the pitch. He will lead Lyon again on Sunday. Dijon, after three defeats in a row in all competitions, won last weekend in a crucial match against Caen (2-0) to get to 13th place in the table.

So they won’t be under pressure at all coming into this game. Their 4-4-2 formation could cause problems to the Lyon defence. However, I still think the home side will win this game.

The odds are in favour of Lyon with an away win at 2.00. A draw is at 3.40 and a Guingamp home win is at 3.90.

Alexandre Lacazette is favourite to score first at 4.35. My best tip is a draw at half time and a draw at full time at 5.10.

Score prediction: Lyon 2 Dijon 1 (7.00)
