Marseille 1.60, the draw 3.80, Rennes 5.85 - Saturday 16.00 GMT
Marseille have been the story of the season so far, on and off the pitch. Marcelo Bielsa has made the headlines for accusing his chairman Vincent Labrune of lying to him over transfers, and football-wise, Marseille have won their last three league games to sit in second in the table just behind the leaders Lille.
It has taken a bit of time for the players to get the Bielsa method but it seems that the jigsaw is finally almost in place. It is not perfect yet but it is getting better and better.
After a slow start (draw at Bastia, defeat at home against Montpellier), Andre-Pierre Gignac and co beat Guingamp, Nice and Evian. Yes, we will have to wait a bit more to really see what they are made of against a better opposition, but still, three wins in a row is always good for the confidence.
Les Marseillais are exciting going forward with Dimitri Payet, Gianelli Imbula, Florian Thauvin and Gignac, and they are little by little finding some solidity defensively as well. After the Evian win, Bielsa even had a dig at PSG by saying that he is yet to see this season in Ligue 1 a better team than his.
This game at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday will be another test for Bielsa and his men. Rennes are a counter attacking team that caused troubles to PSG last weekend at home.
They have the players to hurt Marseille but also the fragility defensively to get completely overrun in midfield and get a hammering. I think the reality lies in between.
Marseille are on the up. Their confidence is high, their best players are in form and in Bielsa they have a great manager, but they are still vulnerable and not unbeatable at all. Rennes are capable of a coup in Marseille, especially after the convincing performance in the second half against Paris last Saturday. However, I think Marseille will continue to improve and to impress this weekend with another win.
Gignac is favourite to score first at 3.95 but my best tip for this game is over 3.5 goals at 3.35.
Score prediction: Marseille 3 Rennes 1 at 15.00
