PSG 1.22, Draw 5.80, Nice 14.00 – Saturday 16.00 GMT
PSG are on a roll now. Their win against Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League on Tuesday made it eight consecutive victories in all competitions for the French champions. They are unstoppable at the moment and, best news of all, they have the real Zlatan Ibrahimovic back.
After two months out through injury, the striker had his worst performance ever for PSG against Metz last weekend. He was not fit enough and he basically missed everything he tried that evening. However, it was a different story on Tuesday. He looked sharp again and he was decisive again. He started the move on the first goal and scored the second one with a lovely half volley from a tight angle. Ibra is back which makes this game even more worrying for Nice as the rest of the PSG team is on pretty good form too.
Cavani scored two on Tuesday, Pastore had another stellar game. Defensively, it has not been as good though. They conceded two penalties at Metz and another goal against Ajax. It’s more complacency than anything else but a clean sheet would be welcome on Saturday. So it’s good that Motta, Verratti and Thiago Silva could all be back for this game. Even if they are not, it is still a massive task that face Nice.
They have lost their last three games at the Parc des Princes and were dominated every single time. They are having a weird season too, with a lot of ups and downs. They hammered Guingamp away for example (7-2) at the end of October but it is their only win in their last seven league games. They had lost three in a row before getting a poor 0-0 draw at home against Reims last weekend. They have lost a lot of confidence and their key players, like Cvitanich, are struggling while the injury list is full (Bodmer, Digard, Eduardo).
They will be highly motivated for this trip to Paris and a positive result on Saturday could be a turning point in their season. They know they have nothing to lose but I cannot see them being able to cope with PSG’s talent. They could even get a battering there.
Zlatan is favourite to score first at 2.95, but my best tip is Lucas to score at 2.85.
Score prediction: PSG 3 Nice 0 at 6.75
