Lens 10.00 Draw 4.85 Paris SG 1.33
On paper, it looks like the perfect game for PSG to get back to domestic life after the international break.
Lens are 18th in the table, haven’t won since August (and five games in a row) and they haven’t beaten Paris since 2004. And on top of that, the game will be played at the Stade de France, in Saint Denis, in the north suburbs of the french capital on Friday evening. So the Champions will be like at home but, once again, what kind of performance will they put out?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still a doubt for the game because of his achilles injury. He has missed the last four PSG matches and, apart against Barcelona in the Champions League, the team has struggled without him. They need him back but if he is not fit, the Parisians will have to get back to winning ways by themselves.
They have won only one of their last five league matches (with four draws) and they have drawn 6 times so far in 9 Ligue 1 games. They are lucky to be only 7 points behind the leaders Marseille. But they need a reaction this weekend. This sloppy start of the season cannot continue. Cavani’s current poor form is symptomatic of the difficulties the team is experiencing at the moment. This is a good game though to get some momentum back before the return to the Champions League next week.
For Lens, it looks like an impossible task almost. The promoted team has lost all its confidence after a solid start of the season.
Now, former PSG manager Antoine Kombouaré and his players are really struggling. They have only scored twice in their last five league matches and defensively, they conceded six. However, they have nothing to lose. PSG dropped points at Evian earlier in the season for example. Lens are in a similar position than Evian were at the time.
They will have to defend very well as a team but surely this is finally the time when Paris get to full flow in the league and start a winning run.
Best bet: PSG to win both halves at 3.15
Score predicton: Lens 0-2 PSG is 6.00
