Malaysian Super League Allstars 15.00 The Draw 8.50 Manchester City 1.08
Arsenal stumbled to a narrow 2-1 victory over this Malaysian select side last week, which should offer some encouragement for those glaring amorously at the hefty odds on a draw. However, City in-turn beat The Gunners 2-0 over the weekend and will pull no punches in asserting their ‘brand’ in Asia today. The best bet here is over 3.5 goals at 1.72.
Kilmarnock 2.50 The draw 3.20 Bristol City 2.50
City boss Keith Millen takes his west-country charges north of the border and back to his own homeland tonight, and everything logical says this game will go in his favour. Killie, of the SPL, are struggling in pre-season having lost to Greenock Morton, Livingston and Wrexham in recent weeks and I expect Bristol, who are preparing for a sixth successive campaign in The Championship, to be too strong for the hosts. 2.50 is great value on the away win. For a riskier outside punt, back a 3-1 away win at 18.00.
Norwich 3.00 The Draw 3.30 Ajax 2.10
My last bet carries over to tomorrow, when Norwich City host Dutch giants Ajax of Amsterdam in a midsummer night’s dream tie at Carrow Road. The Norfolk side have added quality to their ranks already this close season and are on a run under Chris Hughton having beaten Peterborough and Celtic in the past 10 days. Ajax will provide a sterner test, but could only stutter to a 1-0 victory over Southampton at the weekend and are likely to have their hands full with Grant Holt et al. The draw looks likeliest here, and at 3.30 you’d be crazy not to give it a bash.
