Pre-Season Friendly Betting: Wednesday's Top 3 Tips

Shanghai Shenhua 8.00, the draw 5.00, Manchester United 1.27

Manchester United's pre-season results thus far have hardly been overwhelming; a 1-0 win over AmaZulu was followed by a draw against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday. With players of the calibre of Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick, Shinji Kagawa and Antonio Valencia expected to play a part today, they should have enough to beat Shanghai Shenhua. The odds aren't particularly appealing, though, so consider backing United's frontline to continue to struggle. Under 2.5 goals is available at 2.65.

Lazio 1.92, the draw 3.40, Siena 3.35

Siena spent much of last season battling to avoid relegation from Serie A, while today's opponents Lazio faded after a promising start. With both sides playing their first friendly of the pre-season, there's not much form to go off, and both teams will likely be feeling their way back into action. Given that this will be an exercise in improving fitness - and that the last fixture between these two ended in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico - the 3.40 on offer for the stalemate looks generous.

FC Copenhagen 2.20, the draw 3.20, West Brom 2.90

Steve Clarke's West Brom side continue their Scandinavian jaunt tonight with a visit to FC Copenhagen. Having lost to Malmo last week, the Baggies will be well aware of the difficulty of their task against a side whose domestic campaign began earlier in the month. With a Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge on the horizon, Copenhagen will be looking to make the most of a match against a club from one of Europe's top leagues. Back them to sneak a win at 2.20.
