The 6 Best Bets for Sunday’s Live Premier League Matches

The Premier League season draws to a close on Sunday, with the television cameras at three matches as both the title and European places will be decided.

Manchester City know that either a win or a draw at home to West Ham will secure them the title, but Liverpool will be ready to take advantage of any nerves when they host Newcastle. Meanwhile in sixth, Tottenham will secure a Europa League place if they can get a point against Aston Villa.

Here’s Mark Jones’ six best bets for the finale:

Liverpool v Newcastle: Daniel Sturridge to score at any time – 1.75

The feats of England forward Sturridge have perhaps been cruelly overlooked throughout the campaign because of the superhuman efforts of teammate Luis Suarez, but he has undoubtedly been one of the standout performers of the season.

No player in the Premier League has won more points for his team than Sturridge in 2013/14, and as Liverpool’s fine campaign draws to a close against Newcastle he’ll be looking to finish it with a bang.

Manchester City v West Ham: Both teams to score – 1.96

There are bound to be a few nerves around the Etihad Stadium as City go for glory for the second time in three seasons, and whilst they are likely to stay in control of those nerves, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them concede.

Andy Carroll has scored more goals against City than any other Premier League opposition, and he’ll be a threat for a Hammers side who have nothing to lose, and who could find the net.

Tottenham v Aston Villa: Tottenham to score in both halves – 2.02

Tim Sherwood’s tumultuous reign at White Hart Lane looks like coming to an end, but the Tottenham manager will be eager to sign off with a victory and performance to silence his many critics.

Spurs scored in both halves of their last three home league matches, and against a Villa side with a powderpuff attack and nothing to play for, they can do the same again.

Tottenham v Aston Villa: Harry Kane to score at any time – 2.85

Young forward Kane was substituted early on in Tottenham’s last game as they went down to 10 men at West Ham, but he’s been in better form at White Hart Lane recently, scoring on both of his last two appearances.

As with everyone in the Spurs squad he’ll be feeling a little amount of uncertainty about just where the club will turn next, but he can at least continue to impress his growing army of fans with a goal.

Manchester City v West Ham: Draw HT/City FT – 3.90

City had to be patient in their match against Aston Villa on Wednesday, and in such a huge game they might have to be so again.

Sam Allardyce’s team will be set up to frustrate and annoy their opponents, and they’ll fancy their chances of holding out until at least the break before succumbing to the hosts’ greater power.

Liverpool vs Newcastle: Raheem Sterling to outscore Steven Gerrard – 4.25

Liverpool’s Sterling has been in stunning form in the latter half of the season, and he was often the inspiration behind their extended title charge.

With his skipper Gerrard taking up his more defensive role these days, his opportunities to score goals largely come from set-pieces, meaning that Sterling should be backed to outscore Gerrard in a match in which the Reds are sure to be on the front foot.
