Premier League Betting: Man City v West Ham - Fan v Fan Preview

Man City perspective: Ric Turner, BlueMoonMCFC

Team news

David Silva and Sergio Aguero should return after missing last weekend’s defeat at White Hart Lane, while Jack Rodwell and Maicon should also be available again. Micah Richards may have to settle for a place on the bench as he looks to improve his fitness after recovering from a knee injury. Scott Sinclair is once again unlikely to feture, and will surely leave the club this summer.

Form

The 3-1 defeat to Spurs was a disappointment, coming on the back of four successive victories. City looked to be in control for 70 minutes, but then capitulated alarmingly; Mancini will be keen to ensure complacency doesn’t set in as the Blues look to secure second spot.

Head-to-head

Our overall record against West Ham is fairly mixed, with City having won 42 games compared to West Ham’s 35. Our recent home record against the Hammers is very good: we haven’t lost to them since moving to Eastlands in 2003.

Best bets

City to win at 1.26. I expect City to win fairly comfortably, as West Ham are now safe and have nothing to play for.

Carlos Tevez to score first at 4.25. I have a feeling the striker will make an impression against his former club.

City to win without conceding at 2.00. Our defence has been in great shape (the Spurs loss aside), so this could be a good bet.

Score prediction: Man City 2-0 West Ham (6.75)

West Ham perspective

Team news

Sam Allardyce will maintain the side that beat Wigan last week, with Andy Carroll supported by Ricardo Vaz Te and Matt Jarvis in attack. Mark Noble is edging closer to full fitness but is unlikely to oust in-form Gary O'Neil.

Form

The Hammers are unbeaten in five, securing impressive draws against Liverpool and Southampton and beating West Brom and Wigan at Upton Park. They sit 10th in the Premier League - an impressive showing for their first season back in the top flight.

Head-to-head

Allardyce's side earnt a valuable point against City earlier this season, but have not beaten the Blues since March 2009. Their last away win came in an FA Cup match in 2006.

Best bets

Both teams to score at 1.88. Andy Carroll has been in fine form and should test the City defence.

The draw at 5.75. West Ham normally make life difficult for the league's big boys and won't be easy to break down.

West Ham/Draw HT/FT at 22.00. Expect the Hammers to strike early before City claw their way back into the games.

Score prediction: Man City 1-1 West Ham (10.50)

Predicted side

Bet on all this weekend's Premier League games.
