Premier League Betting: QPR v Reading - Fan v Fan Preview

QPR perspective: Paul Finney, IndyRs.

Team news

Due to another act of madness we find ourselves without Stephane M'Bia for three games; he kicked out in last week's game against Arsenal. Anton Ferdinand should return, and although he will likely start, some fans - me included - would prefer for Clint Hill to keep his place.

Since losing to Reading in the League Cup we have lost three and drawn, a run which has left us looking uneasily at the league table. We need to arrest the slide as soon as possible.

We have played Reading 41 times at home, winning 20. We beat them home and away in the 2010/11 Championship season; a repeat of that feat this year would be a real boost to our survival hopes.

Best bets

QPR to win at 1.80. I fancy us to get back on track on Sunday, and the odds are generous.

Junior Hoilett to score first at 8.00. The Canadian has been lively of late, and could trouble a poor Reading defence.

Both teams to score at 1.62. Neither side has the best record at the back, and I expect that to continue.

Score prediction: QPR 2-1 Reading (8.25)

Predicted side

Reading perspective: Dan Wimbush, The Tilehurst End.

Tema news

Brian McDermott has a lot to think about after the 7-5 defeat to Arsenal, though he should have everyone but Jem Karacan fit. Several fringe players were given a chance on Tuesday and we could see the likes of Noel Hunt or Garath McCleary restored to the line-up... but any combination is possible after a 7-5 defeat!

While we're yet to win a league game this season, we've actually only lost one in the last four. Having led in three of them, there's reason to believe we can pick up that first win on Sunday.

Historically we've enjoyed plenty of hard-fought games with QPR and there always seems to be a red card in meetings between the two sides. We only played the 'fake hoops' a few weeks ago and earned a 3-2 Capital One Cup win at Loftus Road.

Best bets

Reading to win at 4.40. This looks like tremendous value considering we've already won at Loftus Road this season.

Both teams to score at 1.60. The Royals have scored plenty of goals this year while failing to keep a clean sheet so this also looks a decent shout.

2-2 draw at 14.00. We've managed to draw 2-2 twice in the last four games so that might also be worth a punt... although I feel we will just sneak a win.

Score prediction: QPR 2-3 Reading (34.00)
