Premier League Betting: Saturday's 3pm Kick-Offs Previewed

Hull City 2.02, the draw 3.47, Crystal Palace 3.85

After a slow start to the season, Neil Warnock has guided Palace up to a respectable ninth position and the Eagles are unbeaten in four league matches. My prediction of an away win may well put an end to that record but it’s hard to back a Hull side who haven’t won in the Premier League since the opening day of the season.

Warnock’s men are amongst the hardest to predict but I can only go with form and tip Palace to take the points.

Best Bet: Both teams to score 1.83

Score prediction: Hull City 1-2 Crystal Palace 13.00

Leicester City 1.73, the draw 3.75, Burnley 5.05

Six games into the campaign and Burnley have picked up just three points as they sit below Newcastle at the bottom of the table. More alarmingly, Sean Dyche’s side have scored just once in the league and haven’t found the net since Scott Arfield’s 14th minute strike in their opener against Chelsea.

All of that suggests that the goals betting should be avoided for this one and although Leicester’s good run came to an end at Selhurst Park last week, the Foxes should have enough to deliver the points with Leonardo Ulloa a decent price in any of the individual goalscorer markets.

Best Bet: Leonardo Ulloa to score anytime 2.38

Score Prediction: Leicester City 3-0 Burnley 12.50

Liverpool 1.42, the draw 4.80, West Brom 7.70

Since dismantling Spurs at the end of August, Liverpool have yet to win in the league and a run of poor form continued with Champions League defeat to Basel in the week. People will point to the absence of Luis Suarez and issues with Mario Balotelli but the biggest loss over this period has been Daniel Sturridge.

Brendan Rodgers is hoping that Sturridge will be in the squad for Saturday and his presence might make a home win slightly more comfortable. I still expect the hosts to edge it despite West Brom’s run of two wins with no goals conceded.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 goals 1.58

Score Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 West Brom 8.00

Sunderland 2.50, the draw 3.20, Stoke City 3.05

A 1-0 result is a typical Stoke City outcome – win or lose - and that narrow victory over Newcastle on Monday night is the fourth time this scoreline has appeared in six Potters league games. You won’t get too many goals when Stoke play but deciding which way the points will go is another matter.

Mark Hughes’ men won 2-1 here in the Capital One Cup and with Sunderland taking just five points from their opening six league fixtures, I’m looking at another tight away win.

Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals 1.53

Score Prediction: Sunderland 0-1 Stoke City 8.00

Swansea City 1.83, the draw 3.65, Newcastle United 4.50

The fact that Swansea are odds on says more about Newcastle’s form right now and the lack of any desire, quality and chances created in their loss to Stoke makes it difficult to see how the Magpies can take a positive result back from the Liberty Stadium.

Newcastle have failed to score in four of their six league games and with the Swans currently lying in fifth with ten points, logic has to demand a home win? This, however, is the one game where I’m tipping against form with Newcastle claiming a share of the points and under fire Papiss Cisse finding the net. My money and reputation may be on the line but I just don’t feel that Swansea deserve to be so short.

Best Bet: Papiss Cisse to score anytime 3.95

Score Prediction: Swansea City 2-2 Newcastle United 15.00
