Top 5 Manchester Derby Moments

This Sunday sees the biggest game of the season as Manchester United face noisy neighbours Manchester City.

Down the years the Manchester derby has seen some amazing moments, and this weekend proves to be no different as both teams are vying for the title.

Here is a list of the Top 5 moments ever.

1. Denis Law backheel, 1974

Contrary to popular belief it wasn't the goal that sent United down (they were already relegated thanks to Norwich winning), but former Old Trafford star Denis Law still refsued to celebrate and asked to be subbed.

2. Wayne Rooney bicycle, 2011

Potentially the best goal the United man has scored, giving Joe Hart no chance in a 2-1 derby win in 2011. Rooney's analysis? "I saw it coming over and I thought why not?" Fair enough.

3. Six of the best, 2011

City got revenge for Rooney's stunner towards the end of the year with a remarkable 6-1 win at Old Trafford, their biggest ever derby win. The highlight? Mario Balotelli's celebration. What a nutter.

4. Mark Hughes scissor goal, 1989

Cracking goal from Sparky here as he expertly smashes it home. Shame his defenders weren't in quite such good form as City romped to a 5-1 win.

5. Michael Owen's winner, 2009.

A derby full of great goals here as Craig Bellamy scores a 30-yard belter, but Owen steals the limelight with a 94th minute winner as United take the plaudits.
