Wenger To Clear The Decks?

The transfer deadline day activity at Arsenal looks as though it could centre on players going out rather than in, with three exits reportedly on the cards.

Mathieu Debuchy has long been linked with a loan move to Aston Villa as he targets more minutes ahead of Euro 2016, whilst Serge Gnabry is set to move on loan to the Championship and, most surprisingly, Kieran Gibbs could be in line for a shock move to Newcastle United.

Aston Villa have now got so desperate for striking reinforcements that they have moved for the ex-Swansea forward Michu, who is these days playing in the Spanish fourth division.

Michu, 29, was one of the players for the Premier League season in 2012/13 before injuries struck him down, but Remi Garde is reportedly ready to bring him back to Britain after missing out on several striking targets.

Tottenham’s £6m move for the Fulham striker Moussa Dembele has collapsed after the Championship club insisted that he remain on loan with them for the remainder of the season.

Dembele – who could have teamed up with midfielder Mousa Dembele at White Hart Lane – was wanted by Spurs immediately, but Fulham want him to stay and help in their fight to avoid relegation to League One.
