Manchester United are planning a £22m move for Barcelona forward Pedro, 27, whose buyout clause has been slashed by the Spanish champions to allow him to move.
So he’s not going to Chelsea? Jose Mourinho retains an interest, but Pedro is believed to favour a move to big-spending Manchester United, who are looking for another forward player after releasing Robin van Persie and Falcao.
Who Let The Drog Out?!
Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, 37, has been offered a contract to play in Major League Soccer, but a Qatari club also want to sign him.
Who are these clubs? Chicago Fire are believed to have offered The Drog an 18-month contract worth $2.5million a year, while an unnamed Qatari club are also interested.
Pogba saga Goes On!
Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, 22, will ignore interest from Manchester City and join Barcelona - if Joan Laporta wins their presidential election on Saturday.
Why’s that then? Laporta has made an unofficial promise that he will sign Pogba if he is elected, despite Barca having already signed Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid this summer.
Park the Bus!
Bournemouth want to sign Fulham midfielder Scott Parker, 34.
Isn’t he past it? How rude! A little over the hill, perhaps, but the former England international can add some steel and much-needed Premier League experience to the Cherries’midfield.
Stone the Crows!
Chelsea are set to make an improved bid for 21-year-old John Stones - but Everton are holding out for a British record fee for a defender.
Will they get it? Unlikely. Chelsea have had one £20m offer turned down, and will probably come back with another in the £23million range but they will not match the £29million Manchester United paid for Rio Ferdinand in 2003.
