Transfer News Today: Chelsea Find Matic Repalcement & Spurs Eye £25m 'Bargain' Before Deadline

Blues In for Perfect Kante Partner

Chelsea could be one of the busiest teams on deadline day, after not really doing much business at all this summer. Antonio Conte looks set to splash the cash at the back but interestingly he is also interested in bringing in another midfielder.

The player in question is Inter’s Marcelo Brozovic, who is deemed surplus to requirements after the massive acquisition of Joao Mario last week. The 23-year-old is the perfect Conte player, an archetypal box-to-box midfielder who could slot in easily next to N’Golo Kante.

A fee of £25m is set to be enough, which could be considered something of a bargain in the current climate for a player who already has 20 caps for Croatia.

Spurs Hoping For Cut Price Deal

Tottenham are planning a late move for Newcastle outcast and general purveyor of sulk, Moussa Sissoko. After one decent 90 minutes at the Euros the player clearly expected a raft of clubs to demand his signature but that has not been the case and he is in danger of being left kicking his heels at the Championship club.

The Frenchman has been linked with all of Europe’s top clubs but no one has been willing to stump up the £35m asking price. Intriguingly, neither are Spurs.

The ever-shrewd Daniel Levy believes that the Toon may drop their demands by £10m or so with the window drawing to a close. It remains to be seen whether United are willing to let the player rot or want to cash in.

Liverpool Winger Set For Exit Door

Liverpool look a squad that is blessed with attacking talent and that could mean the exit for another ro F Brendan Rodgers’ stat signings.

Since joining for £20m from Benfica in 2014 the Serbian has never really had an impact at Anfield and is perhaps best remembered for a thunderous volley with a piece of outrageous technique against Sunderland.

It seems that Newcastle are keen to take the winger on loan this season with an option to bring him in at the end of the campaign. Jurgen Klopp clearly isn’t too keen on him, so this could be the perfect way to revive the career of a very talented footballer who is still only 22.
