Cech It Out
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech would consider joining Arsenal if the Gunners were to make an offer for him, according to the 32-year-old’s agent Viktor Kolar.
“I think Arsenal should have made an offer to him,” said Kolar. “I think Petr would be considering it.”
Will they make that offer though? We’ll see. Wojciech Szczesny hasn’t had the best of times recently, and Cech would be ready-made No. 1.
The Gunners are 8.00 to retain the FA Cup
Liverpool have turned their striking attentions to the Valencia and Spain hitman Paco Alcacer, who has scored three goals in five appearances for his country and will cost around £14m.
Cheaper than Berahino then? Yes, and probably a bit better. Alcacer is just 21 but is seen as Diego Costa’s long-term strike partner in the Spain team. Terms like ‘the new David Villa’ have even been doing the rounds.
The Reds are 1.68 to beat AFC Wimbledon with a -1 handicap
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini wants to bring Schalke’s Julian Draxler to the club, although he’ll cost around £25m.
Worth it? Yes. He’s only 21 and a World Cup winner, and would perhaps add a bit of freshness to a City squad which could do with a fresh face or two.
City are the 5.50 joint-favourites to win the FA Cup
Tottenham are ready to cash in on their goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who could be allowed to leave White Hart Lane for a fee of £25m.
Why are they doing that? Not really sure. Lloris is clearly the standout player in their team and has saved Spurs on several occasions. Surely they won’t allow him to join a Premier League rival?
Spurs are 1.75 to beat Burnley in the FA Cup tonight
Paris Saint-Germain are refusing to take no for an answer in their pursuit of Lionel Messi, and are willing to offer up to £164m to entice the Argentinean away from Barcelona.
Ambitious. Very, but you’ve got to love a trier. It would be difficult to imagine Messi playing for any other club, but then we all said that about Steven Gerrard…
