Kevin Strootman’s on-off move to Manchester United looks to have hit the rocks, with the Dutchman suffering a knee injury against Fiorentina.
But United wouldn’t sign an injured player, would they? Well, they signed Radamel Falcao, didn’t they?
Stalling for a deal
More bad news for Manchester United fans. Robin van Persie admits he is unsure whether United will offer him a new deal.
Why’s that then? He’ll be almost 33 when his Old Trafford contract expires in 2016. Here’s what he had to say: "It is not up to me - for the moment I am staying here for another 18 months. I can't look into the future. I don't know what is going to happen after that. We shall have to wait and see."

Fiorentina have told Chelsea they will sell Juan Cuadrado to the Londoners for £22million – if they get Mohamed Salah in return.
Is that fair? If Chelsea want Cuadrado desperately enough, they will see it as a good deal. Salah has barely featured at Chelsea and Mourinho isn’t worried about losing him. Will Chelsea bite?
Southampton’s orange revolution looks set to continue with the signing of midfielder Jordy Clasie from Feyenoord.
To replace Schneiderlin, right? Yep, Southampton are planning for life without their French star already, and Ronald Koeman wants to bring in Clasie, 23, sooner rather than later. The ‘Dutch Xavi’ – as he’s been dubbed by local media – is keen to move to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Liverpool previously expressing an interest.
(Still) In talks
Andre Schurrle remains in talk with Wolfsburg over a £24million move to the club that currently sit second in the Bundesliga.
What are we waiting for? Schurrle was initially holding out for a summer move to Borussia Dortmund, with Chelsea keen to do the same and use Schurrle as bait for Marco Reus. But with Chelsea keen to land Juan Cuadrado in this transfer window, Schurrle is being pushed out this month. But until Chelsea can agree a deal for Cuadrado, Schurrle is likely to remain a Chelsea player.
