Transfer News Today: Germany Star Admits Liverpool Move Is Possible

Hello Hector?

Germany’s first-choice left-back Jonas Hector says he’s happy at current club Cologne, but has welcomed reported interest from Liverpool and Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Hector, 25, played more minutes for Germany than anyone else last year, and speaking in his homeland ahead of facing England said:

“You always have to consider whether you are ready to take the next step. But at the moment I am not thinking about it. [But if Klopp called] then I would start to think about it.”

Kostic Will Cost You

Staying with Liverpool, Klopp’s Bundesliga summer spree could also include a move for the Stuttgart and Serbia left winger Filip Kostic.

The 23-year-old has scored five times this season, although work permit issues could be a problem.

French defender Aymeric Laporte could be Pep Guardiola’s first summer signing at Manchester City, according to reports which state that the Blues are willing to pay the 21-year-old’s eye-watering £39.6m release clause to sign him from Athletic Bilbao.

Laporte has long been considered one of the best defenders in Spain, and his arrival could coincide with the release of Martin Demichelis.
