Transfer News Today: Liverpool AGREE £10m Deal For Bayern Star

No approach

Lille president Michel Seydoux has confirmed that the French club have not been approached by Liverpool about the early recall of striker Divock Origi from his loan.

Good move? Liverpool are light in striking options but with Xherdan Shaqiri on the brink of signing for the Anfield club and Daniel Sturridge finally approaching full fitness, the £3million it would cost Liverpool to bring Origi to the club early does not make financial sense.

Battle of north London

Tottenham and Arsenal are ready to go toe-to-toe for the signature of Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

Good move? Schneiderlin’s days at Southampton appear to be numbered, with Saints hoping to get £25million for their star man. Both Spurs and Arsenal could do with a defensive midfielder and Spurs are leading the race, with the player reportedly keen to link up with former boss Mauricio Pochettino again.

Come and get me

Swansea are hopeful of hanging on to wantaway striker Bafetimbi Gomis, with Wilfried Bony set for a big money move to Manchester City.

Good move? No. Gomis has been waiting for his opportunity at Swansea and, when it finally comes, he decides he wants to join Crystal Palace. Gomis is set to become Swansea’s first choice striker and has a chance to prove himself at a Premier League club not threatened by relegation.

On the move

Arsenal forward Joel Campbell is closing in on a move to Real Sociedad.

Good move? Yes. Despite an impressive World Cup for Costa Rica, Campbell has struggled for opportunities in an Arsenal shirt. Real Sociedad, fresh from a morale-boosting victory over Barcelona, are on the up under David Moyes, who is looking to boost his attacking options.

In talks

Liverpool are on the verge of making their first signing of 2015, with a £10million deal agreed between Liverpool and Bayern Munich for the transfer of Swiss forward Xherdan Shaqiri.

Good move? Shaqiri is out of favour at Bayern, with Pep Guardiola including him in his starting line-up only three times this season, and not since early October. Liverpool are in desperate need for a goalscorer and Shaqiri doesn’t want to be on the bench. This has got to happen…
