Injuries in midfield have reportedly prompted Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers to reignite the club’s interest in Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who snubbed them in order to move to Borussia Dortmund two years ago.

How’s he done there? Okay, but Dortmund have fallen below their high standards during his time at the club. He would certainly be an interesting addition for the Reds though, who might just need one more player to complete their squad.

What else do you know about him? Er, nothing. He might well be viewed as a replacement for John Stones though, with Chelsea still circling the English youngster menacingly.

Where will he go then? Who knows? The Togolese has had some pretty harrowing personal problems of late, so it is to be hoped that he finds a club where he can display his undoubtedly abilities sooner rather than later.
