Transfer News Today: Liverpool Given Green Light To Sign Germany Star

Hector’s Scouse?

Liverpool have been encouraged to make their move for FC Koln and Germany left-back Jonas Hector by the player’s agent, who has confirmed that his client could be on the move shortly.

Hector played more minutes for Germany than anyone else in 2015, and has established himself as his country’s first-choice left-back.

“Koln reacted with the transfer of Filip Mladenovic (in January) to a possible sale of Jonas,’ his agent Rainer Derber said.

“We must talk to interested clubs in consultation with Koln but this will not happen before the end of the Bundesliga.

“He will not only benefit from a transfer, but so will Koln.”

Manchester United are still hot on the trail of Southampton’s Sadio Mane, and they are reportedly willing to allow Memphis Depay to go the other way to finance the deal.

Depay has been a flop at Old Trafford, and he could see a linkup with fellow Dutchman Ronald Koeman as a chance to resurrect his career.
