Transfer News Today: Liverpool Target Ex-Arsenal Ace In Bosman Move

An Intelligent Move For Harvard?

Having already snapped up Schalke’s Joel Matip on a free transfer for next season, reports in Germany now state that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to make a similar move for Borussia Moenchengladbach and Norway defensive midfielder Harvard Nordtveit.

The 25-year-old spent three seasons at Arsenal between 2007 and 2010 without playing a senior game for the Gunners, but since switching to Gladbach he’s become one of the standout defensive midfielders in Bundesliga, with Klopp keen to bolster in that area amid question marks over the futures of Lucas Leiva and Joe Allen.

Carrick, now 34, appears set to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires in the summer, and he’s believed to be willing to switch to United’s long-term rivals in North London.

Hands Off Pep

Pep Guardiola might be swapping Bayern Munich for Manchester City in the summer, but the German giants have told the Catalan that he has no chance of taking some of their top talents with him.

Bayern have banned Guardiola from approaching the likes of Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski, forcing the new City boss to look elsewhere for transfer targets.
