Rumour has it Real Madrid are preparing a £50million bid for Liverpool star Raheem Sterling.
Is it true? While this rumour has persisted for some time now, it would seem there is no smoke without fire. Madrid are known admirers of Sterling and, while a bid this month or even this year would seem unlikely, Madrid could move for Sterling at some point.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain are looking to sign Spurs outcast Emmanuel Adebayor on loan until the end of the season.
What are the conditions? Spurs want PSG to cover all of Adebayor’s £100,00-a-week wages and pay a loan fee, but it is belived Tottenham have softened their stance and may waive the loan fee.
United’s De Gea headache
Real Madrid have ruled out signing Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea in January – but are aiming to strike a deal in the summer of 2016.
So they still want him? Yes, but they are keen on waiting until his contract runs out and avoiding the huge fee United would demand - or at least that is what they are saying. This puts United in a dilemma and could still see him leave in the summer as United will be keen not lose him on a free.
Swansea are considering a move for Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede.
The same guy that knocked them out of the FA Cup? That’s the one, and Swansea have stepped up their interest since last week. Blackburn value the Benin international at £6million and Crystal Palace have already had a £3.5million bid rejected.
Tottenham have been dealt a blow in their attempts to sign Porto striker Jackson Martinez.
What’s happened here then? Martinez’s agent has claimed his player will join an unnamed Serie A club in the summer, with Spurs reportedly readying a £27.5million bid. But Martinez is apparently desperate to play in Italy.
