Transfer News Today: Man United To Add More Steel With Serie A Stopper

It Doesn’t Zapata What You Think, United Are Signing A Defender

It seems that Man United are not content with the amount of money they have sanctioned to bankroll Louis van Gaal’s philosophical experiment, they are willing to give him even more. A move has supposedly been sanctioned for Felipe Anderson but the Dutchman also wants to strengthen at the back.

The Red Devils have been excellent defensively but cracks have started to show in recent weeks and some experience could be needed, hence a move for AC Milan stopper Cristian Zapata.

The 29-year-old has struggled for game time at the San Siro but would add some much-needed nous to the United squad. He isn’t a signing to get too excited about but with his contract nearly up he would cost very little and would definitely strengthen the Old Trafford ranks.

Klopp Keen On Buying A Uruguayan

Liverpool are just one injury away from fielding Kolo Toure at the heart of their defence, and while that will keep the internet entertained, it could Jurgen Klopp a coronary.

The German boss is keen to add to his options and he has earmarked Martin Caceres as the ideal addition. The Juventus defender has the capability to play both centrally and as a right-back, and that versatility is what appeals to the Reds boss the most.

The Uruguayan has barely played for the Turin outfit this term and his contract is up at the end of the season, meaning he would be available for just a small fee. It’s a move that makes sense for all parties.

City Interest In Sane

Manchester City could be set to get their rather large cheque book out again this Janaury as they look to snare one of Europe’s best young talents.

Leroy Sane is just 19 years old but he has been attracting the attentions of Europe’s leading clubs, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp known to be keen on the Schalke man.

The Citizens, however, would be more than happy to stump up the £32m asking price for the German international who has already scored seven goals in just 27 league games for his current club.
