Another Belgian Toffee
Manchester United fans sing about Adnan Januzaj being their ‘star man on the left-hand side’ but he could be set to become a star on Merseyside instead. The playmaker seemed out of the picture at Old Trafford before starting and scoring against Aston Villa and then keeping his place for the home tie with Newcastle.
Nevertheless, his emergence in the first team has not put off Everton who want to sign the 20-year-old to join their ever-growing Belgian contingent.
That would be a good signing. It definitely would. Roberto Martinez has said he expects to add more players before the window closes and United are set to make signings. It could happen.
Neymar. No Chance?
Manchester United fans got all excited on Saturday and it wasn’t at their side’s average display against Newcastle. Talk is that they could make a move for Barcelona star Neymar. Various sources have confirmed the interest from both parties but Luis Enrique, he’s kind of important here, has dismissed it as rumours.
Seems a weird move. Supposedly the Brazilian idolises the Premier League and is drawn in by United’s history. We might have to wait until next summer but watch this space.
Toffees Find Stones Replacement
Ramiro Funes Mori was in the crowd at Goodison on Sunday and it won’t be long until he’s on the pitch. A £5.5m fee has been agreed with River Plate and the 24-year-old is just waiting on a work permit.
Jose’s got John. Looks that way. Mori is an Argentine international and isn’t turning up to play second fiddle.
Hammers Go Zaza
Slaven Bilic has made no secret of his desire to bring in a striker and it looks like he finally has one. Simone Zaza only signed for Juve this summer but he’s off to east London on loan for the season.
What’s he like? He scored 20 times in two seasons for minnows Sassuolo and made his international bow last term. He will add quality and goals.
Cherries Grabban Lewis
The Norwich Striker has been the subject of two failed bids from his former club as Bournemouth look to add to their attacking options. Alex Neil wants to keep him but the Canaries are said to be on the hunt of another centre forward.
Looks a goer. The south coast club have plenty of cash, it’s just a case of how high they will go. A move back could pull on Grabban’s heartstrings.
