Transfer News Today: Manchester United Hero Discusses Possible Return

Forum Chatter

Former Manchester United favourite Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to rule out a return to his old club ahead of facing them in a friendly in America.

The Real Madrid star said: “Everyone knows that every time when I speak about Real Madrid I should speak about Manchester United, I love it there.

“I was 18 years old, I won everything there. The people treat me like a god there so I appreciate it and in the future nobody knows.”

Our view: Cristiano knows what to say to make people happy, doesn’t he?

Former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa is being lined up by Arsenal to replace the potentially departing Thomas Vermaelen.

Our view: Arbeloa’s versatility is what made him such a hit at Anfield, and his experience could suit Arsenal well if he can be prised from Real Madrid.

Tabloid Gossip II

Tottenham are targeting a move for the Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio, who has been valued at around £21m.

Our view: Spurs certainly need to shore up their defence, and 23-year-old Argentinean Musacchio could be just the answer to fellow countryman Maurico Pochettino’s problems.

Can Musacchio make the difference? Spurs are 4.50 to finish in the top four

No Deal

After the collapse of his move to Liverpool, Loic Remy has now seen a switch back to Newcastle ruled out by boss Alan Pardew, who has given up on trying to sign the Frenchman.

Our view: Perhaps a season back at QPR will be the best thing for Remy, especially after his failed Liverpool medical saw concerns arise over his fitness.

Pardew is the 3.75 favourite to be the first Premier League manager sent to the stands in the new season

In Talks

QPR are in talks to take Juventus’s exciting Chilean international Mauricio Isla on loan for the season.

Our view: Isla can play in a variety of positions, and at just 26 he would appear to be at the right age for a QPR side who have previously focused on signing more experienced players.

QPR are 2.65 to finish the Premier League season as the best-placed promoted team
