Transfer News Today: Manchester United Identify De Gea's Replacement

Like Father, Like Son?

Real Madrid’s looming transfer ban has got various Manchester United figures all hot under the collar as they prepare to field more bids for David De Gea, but the club are rumoured to have identified the man who they want to replace the Spanish international goalkeeper.

Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel – son of United legend Peter – is the name in the frame, with United assistant (and perhaps future boss) Ryan Giggs believed to have put a good word in with Dad in order to turn the Danish international’s head.

De Gea could leave for Madrid if the La Liga giants activate his £30.5m buyout clause.

Nice Try

Emmanuel Eboue has been released by Galatasaray, and the Ivory Coast international has decided that he’d quite like to return to Arsenal on a free transfer.

The former Gunners cult hero, 32, had an up and down career in North London, and he might find that he needs Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to show at least the slightest inclination of bringing him back in order for his move to happen.

Keep dreaming, Emmanuel.
