Transfer News Today: Manchester United Offer £40m For Forward & Newcastle In For England Man

Red Devils Look To Rom To Revamp Strikeforce

Man United need a striker so it must be refreshing for Red Devils fans that they are finally being linked with one, and a very good one at that

Romelu Lukaku is enjoying his best ever season and the Everton frontman is sure to attract attention, and let’s face it, sorry Toffees fans, but he was never going to stay at Goodison forever. Louis van Gaal is reportedly readying a £40m offer to test the water for a player who has scored 19 goals in all competitions this year.

The question remains whether the Belgian would be interested on the switch but a pairing of Lukaku and Anthony Martial would set tongues wagging and see Wayne Rooney clasping his P45.

Man United are 8.00 to win the FA Cup

Jonjo To Toon Is A Go Go

Jonjo Shelvey started the season superbly. He was a started in the England side and he looked set to experience a somewhat delayed breakthrough campaign. However, the former Liverpool man has been a major victim of Swansea’s drop off in form and he no longer seems to feature in the relegation battling club’s plans.

Newcastle have long admired the midfielder and Ste McClaren has made Shelvey his number one target this January. It seems that negotiations have moved quickly, with the 23-year-old eager to move away from Wales.

The Toon are set to pay £10m for his services and the deal could be done as soon as this weekend’s FA Cup fixtures have been concluded.

Chelsea Seek Senegal Star Striker

It seems that Loic Remy could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge after being weirdly ignored at Chelsea despite the team’s struggles this term. However, Guus Hiddink is keen to get a player in to challenge Diego Costa for a starting berth before allowing Remy to leave.

The Dutch coach has identified Lokomotiv Moscow forward Oumar Niasse as the man to plug that gap. Who? I hear you scream.

Well, he is a Senegal international who has hit sight goals in 15 appearances for the Russian club this season. At 25 he isn’t exactly vastly experienced, with just four caps for his country but he is highly-rated and at £15m is a gamble Chelsea see as worth taking.
