Transfer News Today: Manchester United Told To Stump Up £50m For Striker And Conte Finds Terry Replacement For Chelsea

Red Devils Told To Stump Up For Rom

Man United have been told to put up or shut up as they look to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton this summer.

The Belgian has enjoyed a wonderful season, in which he has announced himself as a top level striker, with the real potential to go on and become one of the world’s best. Unsurprisingly, the Red Devils want a slice of that pie, and boy do they need it.

The Toffees remain convinced they can keep the 22-year-old for one more campaign but have suggested that they may be tempted by offers starting at the £50m mark.

Reds And Toffees Lock Horns Over Turkey Star

Everton and Liverpool’s rivalry has taken something of a back seat this season, with neither side really meeting their respective goals, but they could be set to square-up in the transfer market.

Both Merseyside teams are eager to bring in a left-back this summer and the duo have identified Fenerbahce man Caner Erkin as an ideal addition to their squad.

The 27-year-old has racked up 42 caps for the Turkish national side and would add some experience at the back for both teams. Leighton Baines is approaching 32 for the Toffees and the Reds lack a reliable defensive presence on the left hand side.

Conte Wants Italian Defender At Chelsea

Antonio Conte knows that he simply has to make big changes at Stamford Bridge this summer, and with John Terry on his way out, he must start at the back.

His first move is reportedly set to be for Andre Ranocchia, the 28-year-old Italian defender currently on loan to Sampdoria from Inter.

The former Genoa man is hardly a world class replacement for the Pensioners’ greatest ever defender but he is clearly a player that the incoming manager trusts. Ranocchia is excellent in the air and a real threat in the opposing team’s box. He could be a shrewd addition for the Blues but surely won’t be the only centre-back through the door.
