Transfer News Today: Spurs Eye Former Arsenal Midfielder And Chelsea Want £72m 32-Goal Striker

Poch Eyes French International To Add Midfield Steel

Tottenham will be eager not to rest on the laurels this summer and they could be set to pull off one of the deals of the transfer window, if Mauricio Pochettino gets his way.

Lassana Diarra has been one of, if not the only, shining lights in what has been a dismal season for Marseille. The Frenchman has still managed to standout while L’OM have struggled and despite his age, 31, he would add real strength in depth to Spurs centrally.

The White Hart Lane side are keen to build around youth but with Diarra supposedly available on a free should one of Europe’s big clubs make a move, it may be foolish to miss out on such a class act.

Conte Lines Up 32-Goal Striker

Chelsea are wary of losing Diego Costa to Ateltico Madrid this summer, with reports suggesting the Spaniard is keen on a move back to his former club.

If so, then Antonio Conte must find a replacement and there is none better than Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine has scored 32 goals for Napoli this term but could be keen on a move elsewhere as he looks to win a league title.

The 28-year-old would cost a massive £72m but it is not as if they can’t afford it and they would recoup around half of that in the sale of their current frontman.

Jose Promised Andre At Old Trafford

If/when Jose Mourinho is appointed at Old Trafford, he is going to need to perform some open heart surgery, remove the deadwood lying around and bring in a raft of his own players.

One man he wants in particular is 22-year-old Portuguese schemer Andre Gomes. The former Benfica man has shone at Valencia despite their disastrous season and is sure to depart this summer.

He would set United back a reported £35m and with Jorge Mendes his agent, this move makes perfect sense.
