Transfer News Today: Tottenham To Sign Veteran Forward On A Free

Forum Chatter

Tottenham have nipped in ahead of West Ham to make a move for the 33-year-old forward Samuel Eto’o, who was released by Chelsea at the end of last season.

Our view: Spurs could probably do with some experienced backup, and providing the wages aren’t too high this could be a good move.

Spurs are 4.50 to finish in the top four this season

Tabloid Gossip I

Liverpool have targeted Mario Balotelli to fill their maverick forward sized hole, and could use £14m of their Luis Suarez money to sign the Italian from AC Milan.

Our view: Like for like? Balotelli certainly isn’t in Suarez’s league, but he would add that devilish element to their attack that the Uruguayan usually brought.

Liverpool are 12.00 to go one better and win the league in 2014/15

Tabloid Gossip II

Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar is a target for Italian giants Juventus following his impressive World Cup, with the Dutchman now set to hold talks with boss Paul Lambert.

Our view: Vlaar is somewhat underrated and it is a surprise that more big clubs aren’t in for him. Manchester United maybe?

Villa are 4.25 to be relegated this season

No Go

Swansea manager Garry Monk has declared that forward Wilfried Bony is not for sale despite transfer links with Liverpool and Tottenham.

Our view: The Swans are putting a brave face on it, but if an offer comes in for Bony’s services then he’s likely to be off.

Bony is 21.00 to be the top Premier League scorer in 2014/15

In Talks

Inter Milan are set to begin talks with Cardiff City’s Chilean powerhouse Gary Medel, who is capable of playing in both defence and midfield.

Our view: Medel is too good for the Championship, and a £10m deal would seemingly suit both parties as Inter try to re-establish themselves in Serie A.

Inter are 15.00 to win Serie A this season
