The big game of the day was meant to be the Capital One Cup final but Manchester United’s win over Arsenal with half a team still wearing nappies (or so many would have you believe) caught the imagination of the social media community as Twitter went into overdrive.

The Red Devils 3-2 win looks to have potentially ended the Gunners’ title hopes, put the Red Devils in with a chance of the top four and turned Louis van Gaal from a blithering buffoon into horny footballing pariah.
