Lazio - Sassuolo
The only Italian side to make it through to the Europa League last-16, Lazio might now view that tournament as their priority. A good 11 points behind fifth-placed Inter, their prospects of qualifying for continental competition next year otherwise look bleak.
Still, manager Stefano Pioli appeared to keep one eye on this game in midweek, fielding a team that included several key starters but also initially left one or two - most notably Antonio Candreva - on the bench. Sassuolo, despite their win over Empoli last week, are struggling, and Lazio have done well when playing at home immediately after a European game, taking seven points from three such outings.
Home win and both teams to score - 4.10
Fiorentina - Napoli
Both eliminated from Europe on Thursday, Fiorentina and Napoli must rally quickly for a hugely significant showdown. The fight for a Champions League berth is only getting more intense, but either team could also yet win the Scudetto. Fiorentina have rarely been included in that conversation over the past few months but a win would move them to within two points of their second-placed opponents
Napoli, winless in four matches, might feel that they are due a break. They played well enough to draw with Juve, only to be caught out by a late Simone Zaza sucker-punch, then dominated Villarreal over two legs only to be undone by a mishit cross by Tomás Pina. But this is not all circumstance. An attack that had been ripping teams to shreds has produced only two goals during the present skid, and Gonzalo Higuaín looks out of sorts. That is a major concern when going up against opponents with the second-best home record in the league.
Home win - 3.20
